New and Upcoming Projects
During the last few years, Greater Baltimore AHC has developed nearly 500 affordable apartments in the Baltimore region.
In the fall of 2008, AHC purchased a new property, MonteVerde, which will provide 301 affordable apartments for elderly and non-elderly disabled residents. Renovations to update kitchens and baths, windows, new heating and cooling systems and a new roof began immediately. The two, 13-story buildings will also be joined by a newly constructed building that will provide a single point of entry and improved and enlarged community space.
AHC, in partnership with Apartment Investment Management Company, purchased Kirkwood House Apartments in December 2008. The project-based section 8 property is located in teh Loch Raven neighborhood of northeast Baltimore. The midrise community includes 261 apartments primarily for seniors. GBAHC and Aimco began a $7.1 million renovation of the 31-year-old property in January 2009. More information.
