Low-Interest Loans and Grants for Renovations and Improvements
Each year AHC completes up to 20 home improvement projects for low- and moderate-income homeowners through low-interest loans and grants. The program is a partnership with Arlington County’s Department of Community Planning, Housing and Development. Our experienced construction managers carefully monitor projects from start to finish, providing advice and support throughout the renovation process.

Accessibility and Emergency Grants
The "barrier-free" grant program helps low- and moderate-income individuals with special needs to continue living safely and independently in their own homes. This program, in cooperation with Arlington County, improves accessibility for physically challenged homeowners, by installing handrails, stair lifts and wheelchair ramps.
AHC and Arlington County also offer emergency grants for low-income homeowners and renters who have an urgent need, such as leaking roofs or heating/air conditioning problems.
