AHC Inc., Jonathan Rose Companies and Community Development Trust Celebrate $8 Million Renovation

March 30, 2019

After several years of construction, AHC Inc., along with partners Jonathan Rose Companies and the Community Development Trust, celebrated the newly renovated Lafayette Apartments with Fairfax County Supervisor Jeff McKay and Tom Fleetwood, Director of the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Development.

The $8 million project preserved and updated 340 affordable apartments in a 17-acre community in Fairfax County’s Hybla Valley/Groveton neighborhood. The three-story, garden-style apartments were built in the 1960s. Apartments include one-, two- and three-bedrooms with outdoor balconies or patios. Amenities include a fitness center, playground, outdoor pool, and onsite management office.

The moderate renovation includes new HVAC systems, energy-efficient fixtures, updated kitchens and bathrooms, and a security system for building entrances.

Located along a major thoroughfare with multiple bus service options, Lafayette Apartments is home to working families who enjoy being close to schools, centers of employment, and retail.
