AHC Preserves 48-Unit Apartment Community in Montgomery County
AHC has acquired Brookside View, a 48-unit apartment community four miles east of downtown Gaithersburg in Montgomery County. The approximately $6.1 million total development cost was financed completely with private funds.
Local Professionals Share Job and Education Experience with AHC Teens
AHC’s Fall Career Fair was loud, fast-paced and really interactive – the perfect recipe for a successful learning experience. More than 30 teens “speed networked” with professionals from a wide variety of fields – journalism, health and fitness, finance, accounting, government, education, engineering, FBI, fire department, and immigration law – and learned about their education experience and career path.
Extinguishing Eviction
AHC joined forces with Citi Community Development, a founding corporate supporter, and with NeighborWorks America, a nationwide organization dedicated to affordable housing and community development, to develop an eviction prevention program for residents of AHC’s affordable housing communities.
AHC Inc. Honors 2019 Community Builders
AHC Inc. honored three outstanding volunteers during its annual meeting in mid-October. The Community Builder honorees are Ronn Levine, the MasterCard team, and Aisha Farooq. Each works with students in AHC’s comprehensive education program, which serves K-12 youth who live in AHC’s affordable apartment communities in Arlington, VA.

Nearly 100 family members, friends, and supporters attended AHC Inc.’s Graduation Celebration to applaud the nonprofit organization’s Class of 2019 – 24 high school students who are all the first in their families to go to college.
AHC Inc., Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and City of Alexandria Break Ground on $48M Affordable Apartment Community in Alexandria, VA
Gathered together below the church’s towering steeple, leaders of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, the City of Alexandria and nonprofit developer AHC Inc. broke ground on The Spire, 113 new affordable apartments for low- and moderate-income families in Alexandria’s West Beauregard neighborhood. The $48 million redevelopment is expected to welcome residents in 2021.
AHC Inc. Chosen by Amazon for Employee Match Campaign
AHC Inc. has been selected by Amazon as a nonprofit partner to participate in a $5 million company employee match campaign. AHC is one of 10 housing and homelessness nonprofits chosen in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC region to receive the donations.
24 High School Seniors Announce College Choices at AHC College Signing Day
With brand new college t-shirts and big smiles, 20 high school seniors proudly announced where they are going to college during AHC Inc.’s recent College Signing Day. The students, participants in AHC’s College & Career Readiness Program, are all the first in their families to achieve this milestone.
